THE WASHINGTON STATE PSYCHIATRIC ASSOCIATION: WSPA

Kat Jong, MD
Membership Chair
I was born and raised in New York City, where I attended Stuyvesant High School before studying German Studies at Williams College, including a year abroad in Munich. I earned my medical degree at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn and completed my psychiatry residency at the University of Washington in Seattle, where I also served on the board of the resident union.
I am board certified in psychiatry and addiction medicine. My work includes treating a broad range of mental health conditions and helping people through major life transitions such as career changes, academic challenges, relationship difficulties, caregiving, and pregnancy. I particularly enjoy working with other physicians, healthcare workers, and high-performing professionals from all backgrounds.
Within organized medicine, I serve on the Government Relations and Membership Committees of the Washington State Psychiatric Association. I have been part of the Government Relations Committee for several years, and I also serve on the Board of the Washington State Medical Association and the WSMA AMA delegation as an Alternate Delegate.
I now live in the San Juan Islands, where I enjoy cooking, reading, and exploring.
