On January 30th, 2020, UW perinatal psychiatrists Drs. Amritha Bhat and Deborah Cowley are conducting a free CME-accredited breakout session for prescribers focused on mental health screening and treatment during the perinatal period.

This is part of Perinatal Support of Washington’s Best Practices in Prevention, Identification, and Treatment of Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders 2-day training on January 30th and 31st. You’re welcome to attend the full 2-day training, or just this prescriber-focused breakout session.

What will attendees learn?

  • Process of differential diagnosis of common mental disorders in the perinatal period
  • Risks of untreated mental disorders and risks of psychotropic medication use during pregnancy and lactation.
  • Informed consent discussions with pregnant and breastfeeding women regarding commonly used psychotropic medications

Who can come?

Any prescriber that cares for perinatal patients, including OB-GYNs, family physicians, pediatricians, ARNPs, and psychiatrists. When & where?
