INDIVIDUAL THERAPIST The Individual Therapist conducts assessments, develops and executes treatment plans, facilitates individual and group therapy, and provides clinical support to the program as needed. FAMILY THERAPIST Under the supervision of the Clinical Director, the Therapist, Family is the primary contact for families assigned on their caseload. The Therapist, Family facilitates individual, family and group therapy, including new Parent Orientations.

Job Duties: 

INDIVIDUAL THERAPIST

  • Facilitate individual and group therapies as assigned.
  • Complete risk assessment and initial safety plan upon admission.
  • Complete biopsychosocial assessment within 72 hours of admission.
  • Complete client treatment plan within 7 days of admission.
  • Coordinate treatment goals and services in collaboration with client's treatment team.
  • Provide progress updates to parents in collaboration with family therapist.
  • Conduct risk or crisis assessments and provide crisis intervention/management as needed.
  • Timely completion of documentation (may include assessments, treatment plans, progress and group notes, discharge summary) according to established standards.
  • Participate in clinical on-call rotation to provide 24/7 coverage for clinical crisis management.
  • Attend weekly treatment team meetings, staff meetings and clinical supervision.
  • Attend meetings, trainings and conferences representing Newport as needed.

FAMILY THERAPIST

  • Proactively communicates and acts as the point of contact for the family
  • Facilitate individual family and group therapies within the framework of the Newport Institute clinical model and Attachment-Based Family Therapy model.
  • Facilitate new Parent Orientations
  • Meet with prospective family members to discuss the clinical family program.
  • Timely completion of documentation (may include assessments, treatment plans, progress and group notes, discharge summary) according to established standards
  • Attend weekly treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and clinical supervision.
  • Attend meetings, trainings and conferences representing Newport as needed.

Experience/Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills: 

  • Master’s Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field required from an accredited or state approved graduate school. Doctorate degree preferred
  • Licensed in Marriage Family Therapy, Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work is required in the state in which you are applying.
  • Minimum 1-year experience working with individuals and group with adolescents
  • Training or experience in trauma-informed treatment preferred.
